Effective delivery of local economic development needs a clear
and robust plan for growth. Economic masterplans define how places
will earn a living in the future and how their economies will be
shaped on the ground.
This innovative integration of an economic plan and a spatial
strategy has been pioneered by GENECON through recent work in
cities and towns across the UK.
We have:
- prepared an urban centre masterplan for Doncaster;
- advised on the refresh of the Redcar & Cleveland
regeneration masterplan;
- led the Sunderland economic masterplan setting a new
economic direction for the city, centered on its university,
waterfront and low carbon economic opportunities;
- devised the economic framework to direct future growth for the
City of York, balancing its international heritage and science-city
assets to drive new private investment;
- prepared an economic plan for the regeneration of the Lansdowne
area of Bournemouth;
- prepared vision and economic growth plans for Grimsby,
Sleaford, Grantham and Gainsborough, focused on re-modelling town
centres to support housing and commercial property markets;
- supported the economic renaissance of Carlisle, through a
central area investment framework and strategic employment sites
strategy;
- developed an economic masterplan for Stockton-on-Tees to guide
investment priorities on key riverside and town centre sites.
