The GENECON team has worked on a wide range of leisure, tourism
and cultural projects.
Our advice has formed the basis for innovative appraisal
frameworks capable of valuing the multiple economic benefits that
such projects can deliver - from the direct and indirect jobs
supported through visitor expenditure to the promotional and
marketing benefits that such projects generate.
Key recent projects have included the business case for Eden
North, economic impact assessment of Roman York, assessment of the
economic impact of Hadrian's Wall Heritage Ltd's £50m Investment
Programme to promote Hadrian's Wall Country as an internationally
renown heritage and landscape visitor destination; work with the
Lancaster Arts Partnership to assess the economic value of arts
activity in Lancaster; the economic impact of redevelopment of the
Everyman Theatre in Liverpool and the economic potential of
improvements to Clacton seafront.
We have worked with local authorities on signature projects such
as the proposals to redevelop the Brighton International Convention
centre; proposals to develop cruise tourism in Cumbria, and the
appraisal of the impact of the development of Stadium Sports
Village, Sunderland as an integrated sports/events facility to
enhance the City's leisure offer and overall image.
